Kyrene Wang, People Operations Specialist at Clari, explains, “We’re in the space of SaaS and AI. [It's] a two-fold platform. One is it syncs with all the different types of signals that you’re working with, and pulls all that data in one place to kind of view all of your information. You get visibility between your team's managers, peers, and can make sure everyone's seeing the same intelligence.”

“Part two is it helps make predictive sales forecasts and it takes a look at things like your past deals and your history and activity and then based on that, it gives you a predictive forecast as to how likely things are to close.”

Clari is powered by a superstar team. “People are really mission-driven here. [...] We have a really strong leadership team. Our co-founders, they worked on their last company together, and one of our other executive staff members have come along too with them,” says Kyrene.

“I think it sets like a really positive tone for the company. They are very communicative, transparent, and at the same time, leading confidently. I would say it’s almost like a top-down approach in that like, the positive attitudes at the top gets disseminated downwards. What also really helps drive the culture is like, employee engagement is always top of mind, and it's also driven top-down. Our CEO is constantly reminding people about culture initiatives. I know that when I work with him 1-on-1, he always tells me that his priority is employee experience as well. So I would say yeah, to explain the leadership, you know, positive company culture are all things that kind of drive it to be a good workplace.”

Inspiring culture during WFH

COVID is uncharted territory for many of us, but the best move forward even in uncertainty. The team took the initiative to appreciate their employees in a time of crisis, which helped reinforce the positive culture of the company.

“We went into work from home on a Wednesday, and I remember it was that Friday, our CFO slacked me and [...] this is before we knew it was gonna be such a long thing. She slacked me and was like, “We're saving some budget from things that we would normally have in the office like catered lunches [...] I think it would be a really nice gesture for us to send out a gift to remote employees. We can use the budget towards that and just like give people a pleasant surprise.” And it was like, Oh, yeah, I love that idea!” says Kyrene.

“We put together the kit and like, I was excited already. I think it was timed perfectly. [...] The main motivation was just like, let's do something nice for our employees. And it actually came out to be much more impactful than we had imagined.”

“So then we worked with you guys. We put together the kit and like, I was excited already. I think it was timed perfectly. So I guess the main motivation was just like, let's do something nice for our employees. And it actually came out to be much more impactful than we had imagined. [...] It's actually very helpful that we thought of it's so early on because then we were able to get these care packages out just before people were starting to get antsy.

The verdict?

The kits were a hit. “I wish I could show you our Slack channel but like I remember the day it went out, literally the Slack channels flooded, our company-wide slack channels flooded with thank yous, and people were posting pictures of their kids just saying, it made my day and made my week. Some people were like, Oh, my whole family's gonna enjoy this. So yeah, like I would say overwhelmingly positive, which just like kind of warmed my heart to see,” says Kyrene.

“People definitely appreciate it. It was well received, and some people posted about how they really appreciated Clari always, like thinking about us and like taking care of us etc. So I think it reinforced the positive culture and reinforced that we are always thinking about employees and how to adapt given different circumstances.”

Final thoughts from Kyrene on working with SwagUp? “The process was awesome. The first time I worked with [SwagUp] was for the tumblers. And what I really appreciated about that was the live chat feature on your website. So instead of emailing back and forth, or hopping on a call, I thought the chat was super efficient at producing something quickly that we could easily go back for revisions,” says Kyrene.

“I was happy with the [mockup] PDFs of the actual kits. [They’re] really helpful for visualizing how each item is going to be and how it's going to come together. So it was easy when this came around, I was like, Oh yeah, I'm gonna reach out to them again. Easy choice. It's just been a super easy process overall.
